Open Access Policy

This is an open access journal, which means that all content is freely available without charge to users and their institutions. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author and in accordance with the licensing of each article. This policy is in accordance with the BOAI definition of open access.

Licensing

All articles published in Lateral are distributed under a Creative Commons license; authors retain copyright without restrictions. The journal currently uses a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) License. Under the terms of this license, you must give appropriate credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made.

Some earlier issues of the journal are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported (CC BY-NC-SA 3.0) License, which, in addition to requiring attribution as above, does not allow the work to be used for commercial purposes and requires that adaptations be distributed under the same conditions.
