Mariposa Martinez is an interdisciplinary artist and tradesperson who grew up in Tijuana B.C. Mexico and now lives and works in Chicago. They have a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and completed the welding program at Chicago Women in Trades. They are a member of PUTOPIACOLLECTIVE, an artist collective in chicago with a focus on creating safe spaces for queer\/trans bodies, supporting accessibility, encouraging artistic collaboration and sexual liberation.Their multimedia practice encompasses ceramics, fashion, metalwork, and performance as an ode to trans people and other marginalized bodies.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n
