Soo Ryon Yoon

East Asia Chair

Soo Ryon Yoon (she/her/그) is a Seoul-based performance researcher, she is currently an NRF academic research professor at the Institute for East Asian Studies, Sungkonghoe University. Her research on race and performance has appeared in positions: asia critique, Inter-Asia Cultural Studies, Performance Research, and GPS: Global Performance Studies, among others. She is currently working on her monograph titled Choreographing Affinities: Race, Performance, and Afro-Asian Connections in South Korea. She has taught performance and cultural studies courses at Northwestern University, Yale University, Lingnan University, and Ewha Womans University.
